Materials (सामग्री): A brass or silver thali, ghee diya (5-wick is auspicious for Lakshmi), lotus flowers or rose petals, a coin placed before the idol (symbolises welcoming wealth), sweets (kheer, peda, or sugar candy), yellow cloth for the altar, camphor, and incense.

Friday (Shukravar) Lakshmi Aarti Vidhi: 1. Clean your home thoroughly before sunset — Maa Lakshmi does not enter unclean homes. 2. Take a bath, wear yellow or pink clothes (her favourite colours). 3. Light 5 diyas with ghee around the idol. 4. Place a coin and rice grains (akshata) before the idol — symbols of eternal prosperity. 5. Offer lotus flowers or roses with both hands. 6. Light camphor and begin the aarti. Ring the bell throughout. 7. Circle the thali 7 times at the feet, 7 times at the stomach/chest, 7 times at the face. 8. At the end, pass the thali to all family members. 9. Offer kheer or sugar as prasad. 10. Keep the main door open during the aarti — she enters through open doors.
