    Who Is Lord Parshuram

Lord Parshuram is the sixth avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu and one of the great immortals (chiranjivi) believed to live on through the ages. Born as the son of sage Jamadagni and Renuka, he was a Brahmin by birth but a fierce warrior in spirit, carrying the divine axe (parshu) gifted by Lord Shiva. He appeared to restore dharma when arrogant kings oppressed the earth, becoming the unique blend of a sage and a warrior.

Tithi and Date of Parshuram Jayanti 2027

Parshuram Jayanti is observed on the Tritiya (third day) of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Vaishakha, which is the highly auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya. In the Gregorian calendar this usually falls in April or May. Because Parshuram appeared on Akshaya Tritiya, the day carries the added blessing of that ever-auspicious tithi. As the date shifts each year, please confirm the exact date and shubh muhurat for Parshuram Jayanti 2027 on the Vandnaa Panchang.

    Significance of Parshuram Jayanti

Parshuram represents the principle that dharma must be protected, even by force when righteousness is gravely threatened. He embodies discipline, devotion, fearlessness and the strength to stand against injustice. Falling on Akshaya Tritiya, his Jayanti is considered doubly auspicious for new beginnings, charity and worship, as deeds done on this day are believed to bring akshaya (never-diminishing) merit. The day inspires courage tempered by devotion and self-control.

    Parshuram Jayanti Puja Vidhi

Perform aarti, do parikrama and, since it is Akshaya Tritiya, give charity such as food, grains or water to the needy.

    Fasting and Observance

Many devotees observe a phalahari fast on Parshuram Jayanti, taking fruits, milk and water while avoiding grains, onion and garlic. Brahmins and warriors (Kshatriyas) hold this day in special reverence. Since it coincides with Akshaya Tritiya, devotees also begin new ventures, buy gold or essentials, and perform charity, as acts done on this day are believed to yield lasting, never-diminishing benefit. The day should be spent in worship, self-discipline and good deeds.
